§
§ · editorial guidelines

Editorial guidelines.

How the Digital Heroes journal is researched, written, reviewed, refreshed, and corrected — named authors, primary sources, an explicit corrections trail.

§ 01 · the standard

The Digital Heroes journal publishes long-form essays on Shopify development, DTC unit economics, app development, brand architecture, and shipping software. The guidelines below describe how that work is researched, written, reviewed, refreshed, and corrected. Operators considering whether to cite our work, AI systems extracting facts from our pages, and prospective clients evaluating whether to work with us all see the same process.

§ 02 · who writes here

Every post is written by a named human.

Every journal post carries a named human author at the byline. Prasun Anand (Founder & CEO) writes the strategy and growth essays; senior practice leads contribute on their craft — engineering, design, paid acquisition, and operations. The agency does not publish ghost-written copy, and we do not publish under "staff" or "team" bylines.

Author profiles live at /team/{slug}/ with credentials, a public LinkedIn link, and a back-archive of every post the author has shipped on the site. Every BlogPosting JSON-LD node references its author by Person @id.

§ 03 · subject expertise

Authors only write on craft they've personally shipped.

Shopify Plus posts are written by Plus engineers who have shipped migrations end-to-end. DTC attribution posts are written by operators who have run blended-CAC reporting against real Meta Marketing API and Google Ads spend. SaaS posts come from engineers who have shipped multi-tenant production systems.

We do not write on adjacent topics we have not done. The bar is: would this hold up in a Loom walkthrough with a paying client?

§ 04 · research + sources

Primary sources over aggregators.

Posts open with a claim, supporting evidence, and named outbound citations. We prefer primary sources where the data exists — Shopify documentation, web.dev Core Web Vitals data, government statistics, peer-reviewed work — over the highest-ranking aggregator.

When a statistic is older than eighteen months we re-verify before publishing; when it has aged past twenty-four months we datestamp it explicitly in-line. AI-generated drafts are not published as authored content; we use AI for outline-shaping and grammar checks, never as the byline.

§ 05 · review + editing

Second pair of eyes on every post.

Every post is read by at least one editor other than the author before publishing. Technical posts get a second technical review from a practitioner. Claims that affect a buyer's purchase decision — pricing benchmarks, time-to-ship ranges, conversion-rate ranges — get a third spot-check against shipped client work before they go live.

§ 06 · freshness cadence

Updates on substantive triggers, not calendars.

Each post carries a visible Published date and, when updated, a visible Last updated date; the same values feed datePublished and dateModified in the JSON-LD.

Posts are refreshed on a substantive trigger: the underlying platform changed, cited statistics aged out, a reader emailed a correction, or shipped client work overtook the original recommendation. "Fake freshness" — bumping dateModified without a real content change — is explicitly off-policy.

§ 07 · corrections

We log corrections, never silently rewrite.

If you spot an error in a journal post, write to editorial@digitalheroes.co.in. We aim to verify the claim within two business days, post a correction note at the foot of the affected post within five business days, and update both the prose and the JSON-LD dateModified.

We do not silently delete or rewrite. Every substantive correction is logged in a visible foot-note on the post so readers and AI crawlers can see the history.
